Mingyi Hei is a Chinese artist. Her paintings are immensely based on her impressions of daily objects and experiences. By utilizing pointillistic approaches, her works largely reflect her sensation, perception, and thoughts of the surrounding world in an abstract yet emotionally resonating style. As the only child of a musical family, she often views the world through the lens of music, which provides her the ability to sense minor rhythms in life and establish orders on canvas. Her works also contain structures of signs in Chinese Sign Language (CSL), extracting dynamics from the well-developed visual language system.
